A High-Density Polarized 3He Gas–Jet Target for Laser–Plasma Applications

چکیده

A laser-driven spin-polarized 3He2+-beam source for nuclear–physics experiments and the investigation of polarized nuclear fusion demands a high-density 3He gas-jet target. Such target requires magnetic system providing permanent homogeneous holding field spins plus set coils adjusting orientation polarization. Starting from transport vessel at maximum pressure 3 bar, helium gas is compressed short time can be injected into laser–interaction chamber through non-magnetic opening valve nozzle, thus forming jets with densities about few 1019 cm−3 widths 1 mm. The comprises 3D adjustment precise positioning jet relative to laser focus. An auxiliary provides remote operation flushing lines Ar gas, which helps reduce polarization losses. design target, its procedures first experimental results are presented.
